Sucker

If you're good and eat all (most) of your dinner in our house, you get a "treat" afterwards. Usually it's a cookie or something, but this night was a sucker.

Allan thought he was so cool!

One happy boy.

Those eyes...they look droopy from a "sugar high."

"I'll show you my sucker, Mommy, but there is no way on Earth I'll give you any of it."

(Don't judge...some parents have to do what they can to get their kids to eat most of their dinners...so what if it means bribing them with candy..."

Look Close...

...Allan has hair on the top of his head!

It's very blonde, but hey, it's growing...slowly but surly...

See What Happens...

...When Daddy is cooking and Allan and Mommy are bored?
We start playing with our camera!

I love being cheesy with him.
Or maybe it's him who loves being cheesy with me...

It Snowed in Houston

Yup, hell must have frozen over, cause it snowed in Houston!!
And of course, our neighborhood was one of the few that barely got any snow, much less have it stick to the ground.
Allan didn't seem to mind.
He still loved the fact that he got to go outside and play in all the "snow."

Once again, when it was time to go inside, he was none too happy with me. Never mind the cold and the wet snow and the fact that his hands and face were so cold. Nope, that didn't matter to Allan when it was snowing in Houston.

Choo-Choo Train

A friend of my mom's at her work was nice enough to give Allan her son's Thomas The Train set. We've been waiting to give it all to Allan until he was a little older. He is. And now he is obsessed with "Chooo Chooos." He loves to build the train tracks.

Or more like make Kirk and I build them and then push his train through.

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was spent with tons of family...just like it should be!
My family ran all over town to spend Thanksgiving with all of our families. First up was at Meema's house, just like the good old days when we were all little kids.
(above are several generations of Drosches)

My mom overseeing my dad carving her delicious turkey.
(and man can my mom cook one heck of a turkey, not to mention her awesome stuffing! ...and I'm not just saying that cause she's my mom...Allan even eats it! And that's the only turkey he's ever tried. Granted, he dips it in Ketchup, but so what.)
I love this picture of Allan because those stained glasses in the front of Meema and Peepa's house is one of the many things I remember about their house as a kid growing up. I love that my cousin, Kristen captured Allan next to them.
Allan's cousins, "The Couvillion kids" are such great kids. Allan loves hanging out with them every time we get together. Lately, him and Kyler have been great buds together. Kyler takes care of Allan, helps get Allan food, watches out to make sure Allan doesn't get into something he shouldn't be...you name it. He's like the perfect babysitter!
See? Kyler has everything under control. He knew Allan didn't need to get too close to the street.
Both concentrating on something important?
Kyler's sister, Kennedy, is also a big help. These cousins love hanging out!

And of course we have to have cousin "Baby Ashtyn" walking. Once she learned to walk that was it. She has tons of things to explore now.
"Look Mom, NO hands!"

A little more play equals Ryan joining in on the fun!
Kyler helping Allan with the water hose...

Kyler's momma, Kimberly, has to join in on the fun.
Nothing like pushing the kids around on Meema's walker...

Park Play

I had a few days before Thanksgiving without watching Maegan, so Allan and I took advantage of the nice (cold!) weather and played at the park.

Poor guy, I put him in the swing facing right into the sun.

He kept saying "weeeee" but had his eyes closed.

(note: don't worry, eventually I did turn him the other way in the swings and let him enjoy them without the sun beating in his face.

He had a blast at our big neighborhood park.

Allan had so much fun at the park that when it was time to go, he screamed and cried the whole way home, then stopped when he was eating lunch and started up again about the "my park" cries. Never mind that he was 2 hours past his naptime when we left the park.
